my story.

As a kid born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, I can recall riding the city bus as a toddler while holding my grandma's hand. She was a Chinese immigrant from the Philippines who learned how to maneuver public transportation throughout the city before she could speak English. While my parents worked, she took me everywhere: Chinatown for pork buns, downtown for Christmas shopping, and to every corner of the city for errands and doctor appointments. By the age of 12, I was a could get around on my own, and I’d spend Friday afternoons with my friends taking BART to go shopping.

Perhaps that's how I became a keen observer of life. From a young age, I was immersed in a diverse and busy world: exploring city streets with a homeless man seated to my right, and a businessman to my left. I grew to appreciate the details of those around me. I wondered about who they were, where they were going, and why they were smiling.

That curiosity eventually led me to study Visual Communication at UC Davis and to build a career using creativity to serve others. Photography, design, and storytelling became the ways I connect with people and help ideas come to life.

When I’m not working, I’m usually enjoying the simplest moments—sitting on a beach, playing Fantasy Football, HomeGoods with no real plan. I can sing the lyrics to just about every R&B song from the ’80s and ’90s, and I’ve been married to my college sweetheart for 21 years.

I spent ten years cheering loudly and documenting my son’s basketball journey. Now he’s in college in Hawaii, which has become our second home—we visit as often as we can. My daughter inherited my love for volleyball and plays competitively at the club level. Somewhere along the way, that love pulled me back into the sport too, and I now coach middle school volleyball.

Our house is rarely neat and never quiet. Laundry gets washed, but we’re lucky if it gets put away. We laugh at TikTok videos, have living-room dance parties, and eat cereal for dessert. Life is full, imperfect, and beautiful—and I love helping others capture and celebrate that same kind of joy through creativity and storytelling.
